Tattoo Removal in Bundaberg: What to Expect

I meet a lot of people who've thought about tattoo removal for years before they ever ask me about it. That hesitation makes sense, there's a lot of misinformation out there, and it can feel like a big decision to walk into. So I want to lay out, honestly and simply, what the process actually looks like at Vanish.

Why people choose tattoo removal

There isn't one reason, and I don't need one from you. Some clients have outgrown a tattoo from a different chapter of their life. Others are preparing for a cover-up and need the existing ink faded first, to give their tattoo artist a cleaner canvas to work with. Whatever brings you in, you'll be met with the same care and zero judgement.

The technology I use

I use a Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser, which delivers short, precise pulses of energy that break tattoo pigment into smaller particles. Your body then gradually clears these particles away naturally over the weeks following each session, this is why the process happens over a course of visits rather than all at once.

How many sessions will I need?

Most tattoo removal courses run between 6 and 10 sessions, spaced several weeks apart to give your skin time to do its part between visits. The exact number depends on a few factors: your tattoo's age, how densely it was inked, and its colour palette. I'll give you an honest, individual estimate at your consultation rather than a generic number.

Full removal vs. fading for a cover-up

If your goal is complete removal, we'll usually work through the full course of sessions until the ink has faded as much as possible. If you're preparing for a cover-up instead, the process is often shorter, just enough sessions to lighten the existing ink so your tattoo artist has more freedom with the new design. I'm always happy to liaise directly with your artist on timing.

What a consultation involves

Every tattoo removal journey at Vanish starts with a conversation, not a laser. I'll look at your tattoo, discuss your skin, and talk you through a realistic plan, session count, spacing, and aftercare, before anything begins. There's no pressure to book on the spot.

Ready when you are

Tattoo removal is a process built on patience, not speed, and I'll be with you for every session of it. If you've been thinking about starting, I'd love to meet you for a consultation and talk through your own tattoo and your own timeline.
